Hurry up and wait

Random thoughts that come with being 2 1/2 weeks from your due date:

"Can I start this meal in the crock pot?  What if we end up having to go to the hospital and it's not cooked all the way and I can't even put it in the fridge for later?"

"If I go into labor and we haven't finished done these dishes I'm going to be upset."

Then there is organizing work and keeping track of who is coming for lessons when, who has paid what, and organizing a back to school schedule for when I come back.

And laundry.

And the guest room that is a disaster.

And my car needs an oil change and I need a hair cut.

I'm so tired that I really don't want to do most of it, but I never know when it's going to need to be done.  The majority of my friends have had their babies about two weeks early, but recently, I've had two friends go a week late.  And my ob has to go out of town 5 days after my due date.  (I've begged her not to let me still be pregnant when she leaves.)

If you know me, you know I'm really organized.  I function with my planner and my daily to do list, not to mention certain lists that keep me going on my phone.  With something so totally out of my control, it's rocking my world just a bit.

I also can't call or text anyone without someone thinking I'm at the hospital.  I will let those of you who need to know, know.  I promise.

So there you go - the random thoughts, the worries, the annoyances.  One thing is for sure, though, we get closer by the second, so back to my to do list.  :)
